Understanding The Nature Of UFA Poker By Playing Against Everyone In the World – Part 2

Nobody gets it.

Not only have I theorized that there are hands in actual real-life poker games that play best against an exact number of opponents, I have taught something since the seventies that should help us to understand these seemingly mysterious poker principles.

I posted this concept to RGP, but everyone seemed to skip right over it, as if it were trivial and inconsequential. It isn’t. It explains everything – and so, I’m going to share it with you now.

In draw poker, two small pair is a favorite against someone drawing cards, often against two players drawing cards. But beyond that the hand often becomes unprofitable. In poker, you see, a hand can be a favorite against each opponent individually and still lose money against a large field of opponents collectively. To explain this, I have – for more than 20 years – used the everyone-in-the-world-playing-poker analogy. I goes like this.

If you were playing five card draw against five billion opponents (everyone in the world back in 1976) and you were dealt a pat king-high straight flush, you’d be a huge favorite against each individual opponent. But if everyone in the world called, your hand would be almost worthless. How come? It’s because somebody out there is sure to end up with a royal flush – in fact, many opponents will share the pot with royal flushes.

Suppose everyone bet $1. The pot is now $5 billion. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “OK, I’m probably going to get this king-high straight flush beat, but it’s still profitable.” If I lose, I lose $1. If I win, I win $5 billion. So, I’ll just stick with this hand and hope nobody beats it.”

But, it doesn’t work that way. Come close. Listen to me. Each additional opponent only adds $1 to the pot. But the cumulative likelihood of somebody beating you gets larger by a factor that quickly overwhelms the value of the dollar. I know this is a tough concept, but look at it this way. I need you to think hard now. Suppose we …

Moscow Ligaz11 Casino Report

The boom in poker in Moscow has continued at a rapid rate since the Cosmos Poker Tournaments held in October. At last count the following major casinos are spreading poker:

Cosmos

Corona

Shangri-la

Arbat

The Horseshoe

Vinco Grand

There are also 2 or 3 small casinos spreading 5-card stud as a service to regular clientele.

Since John Harrak took over as poker operations manager at Shangri-la Casino in early December last year, the poker room has gone ahead in leaps & bounds, spreading 5-card stud, Texas Pot Limit, Omaha Pot Limit as well as regular tournaments.

Poker rules have been introduced & are strictly enforced, rulings are made fairly & in accordance with accepted international practice, & players can now feel confident that disputes will be resolved equitably. Commission has been reduced & is now the lowest in Moscow, & credit is unavailable which means that players are unable to get in too deep ( which has often been the case in the past in the Moscow poker scene) & are playing within their means.

Two low entry tournaments have been held already with excellent attendances,& the big event scheduled for Jan 18th is a $1000 entry No Limit Hold’em Freezeout structured with 40 minute levels starting at 25-50 & 10,000 chips to start.

The European Poker Awards held by Casino Ray in Helsinki in December,2001, featured a win to Alex Kravchenko of Moscow in the Rookie of the Year category, & Alex Dobzhenko of St Petersberg was a nomination in the Individual Tournament Performance category. Eddy Kapitonov collected Euro 38,186 for his final table finish in Amsterdam in December.

Eddy is a young poker pro living in Moscow . His game has improved dramatically in the 2 years since I first met him. In a recent conversation with Eddy he impressed me with his attitude to poker & life.

“Poker is just like life, & bad beats are a part of poker that ligaz11 players must come to terms with in a realistic way – I realise that now- the …

Ted Hayat and Casino

CHUCK – Ted, you’re the first online casino manager I’ve seen post his photo and bio at his casino website. Most online operators seem to be in hiding. Is this openness part of your casino’s philosophy?

ted hayat of global player

TED – I always maintain that honesty is the best policy. All our efforts from the beginning of this project have been to be as open as possible with our customers. I believe that the personal touch is a major factor in making people feel comfortable and secure. Although I did not like the idea of a photograph being placed on our website, it does help to create the realism of a land based casino where the managers are recognizable and approachable. It makes a lot of difference when you can put a face to a name and it helps communication to be a lot more relaxed.

What else makes Global Player unique? Why should we play there?

Our casino is not an “off the shelf” clone. We have developed our own software over the last three years to totally suit our philosophy to make customer needs and customer satisfaction a priority, but most importantly we have gone further than anybody else to offer realistic limits, a wide choice of game rules to satisfy all players and the option of trying the more sophisticated games such as French Roulette. We are also one of the first to offer multi-player games with chat functions. Our program of continuous development has already produced more favorable odds on Blackjack and our “Wild American Roulette”, with a 0% house edge, has got to be the first of its kind worldwide. Furthermore, there is our Progressive Jackpot which is now more than $40,000. All of this, plus our excellent graphics, certainly makes us the most elegant multi-player on the Internet.

I’m impressed by the wide variety of blackjack rules you offer at Global Player. I had never played Spanish 21 until I visited your site. Which of the blackjack games at Global Player offers the best odds to the player?

This depends on whether …

10 Really Cool Pragmatic Online Casinos

Defining “cool” is no easy task. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure… beauty is in the eye of the beholder… you see where this is going. So, are there any cool online casinos out there? We think so, but then you don’t have to take our word for it. That’s cool with us. See for yourself:

[Editor’s Note: We don’t necessarily recommend or endorse the following casinos. We just think they’re cool. Play at your own risk.]

CowboyCasino (www.cowboycasino.com): With a name like Cowboy Casino you would think that only the coolest customers are granted entrance. But even if you thought you were too cool for school when you were knee-high to a grasshopper, you might get your kicks (or learn a few new tricks) by attending the Cowboy Casino Gambling School.

TruePoker (www.truepoker.com): Sucking at poker is definitely not cool. True Poker aims to help improve your game by providing you with links to numerous poker sites and a variety of resources like Gambling Online Magazine.

CasinoOnNet (www.casinoonnet.com): Each month, the Casino On Net Donations Project donates thousands of dollars to charities like Net Aid, Free the Children and Earth Action. How cool is that?

BlackRhinoCasino (www.blackrhinocasino.com): If the main focus of your casino is to help protect the world’s most endangered animals and “to become the best online casino in the world,” are you too cool for shoes? Maybe. But then again Black Rhino Casino donates 10 percent of its profits to the Endangered Species Protection Foundation. And that’s pretty cool.

PiggsPeakCasino (www.piggspeakcasino.com): Pigs are cool, too. Billed as the world’s first combined land and online casino, Piggs Peak Casino is run by the Protea Hotel Piggs Peak near Swaziland, which is really cool because most of us probably don’t even know where Swaziland is…exactly.

Lasseters (www.lasseters.com): Hailed as the “world’s first government licensed and regulated Internet Pragmatic casino,” Lasseters also has child protection software packages available (like Net Nanny and Cyber Patrol) for players who share their computers with under age users.

Omni Casino (www.omnicasino.com): By playing at Omni Casino, you can earn cool travel rewards …

Togel Singapore Raking in on the Internet

Andy McClure, 21, looks nothing like someone making $70 an hour.

He wears the same old blue jeans and the same ragged T-shirts he’s had since his freshman year at the University. If you didn’t know better, you could swear his faded Yankees cap was surgically fixed to his head. He spends most of his time in bare feet.

That’s the part McClure likes most about his story. Most college students can only dream of a job that pays big bucks and allows them to sit around with their friends watching TV or listening to music. But that’s how McClure spends his time: hanging out and making money.

McClure is cashing in on America’s poker boom. He spends about 50 hours a week, he said, playing over the Internet. That’s earned him more than $40,000 since the summer, when he first sat down in — or logged into — an online poker room.

McClure cautions that’s just a fraction of what he expects to make now that he doesn’t have school or any other obligations to detract from his playing time. In 2005, McClure thinks he’ll make at least $200,000. “That’s a conservative estimate,” he said, noting that he could win several hundred thousand with a strong performance in a large tournament. Since Jan. 1, McClure has made about $18,000 online, he said.

McClure plays Texas Hold ‘Em, the seven-card game made popular by the World Series of Poker and other televised events. An inordinate surge of interest in the game nationwide is filling casinos, and social games among friends are making college students into poker aficionados.

The online gambling industry is also riding the Togel Singapore poker wave. There were almost 1.8 million regular online poker players in January, up about 10 percent from the total for December, according to PokerPulse.com, a firm that tracks the industry.

McClure said the recent upsurge of Internet players is already making a lasting impact on the game.

How to play table game?

For those who have never played a table game before, this section is for you. It will benefit everybody if you know the basics of gambling protocol before you sit down for the first time. Few things are more annoying than a beginner at a table who doesn’t know what to do and has to be told everything several times by the dealer. Before your first time at a table game ask if your casino offers gaming instructions. Many will give a tour of all the major games, explaining the rules and how to play, at specific times of the day. Some casinos offer a designated table where people can play with play chips to get their feet wet. If none of these options are available I would suggest watching a game from behind for a few minutes before sitting down. Notice the procedure and when you sit down try not to disrupt it. Following are some pointers which you can learn now or learn the hard way:

Understand the rules before you sit down.

Only buy or cash in chips between hands. If you sit down while a hand is in progress then wait patiently for the conclusion of the hand to buy in. Use this time to get your money ready.

When you buy in the dealer may ask what denomination of chips you prefer. You should know that red chips are $5, greens are $25, and blacks are $100. Some high limit tables have additional colors, I have seen $10,000 chips at Caesars Palace. If you buy in for $100 or less I would take all red chips. If you buy in for $100-$500 I would ask for $100 in red chips and the rest in green. It is also a good idea to ask for $10 in “silver” or $1 tokens. This shows you are willing to tip and will help establish a good rapport with the dealer quickly. You can always get change for large chips later. You are usually not allowed to trade up in denomination except when you leave the table. If you …

World Soccer News 13 Data HK March 2010

FIFA rejects use of technology again

FIFA’s president Joseph Blatter explained in a letter the motives why his organization opposes the use of technology to analyze uncertain plays, emphasizing the game has to be played under the same conditions whether it takes place in a village or in a modern stadium.

FIFA studied two proposed systems of establishing whether the ball crossed the goal line, one including a chip inside the ball and another similar to the technology used in tennis, but neither convinced them.

According to Blatter, “one of FIFA’s principal Data HK objectives is protecting the universality of the game of football. It means that the game must be played in the same manner everywhere in the world,” said the president.

“If one coaches a group of youths in a small village of the planet, they will be playing by the same rules applied to the professional players shown on TV.”

FIFA’s concern is that the cost of the technology would prevent its implementation in poorer regions.

“The implementation of modern technologies can be very costly and due to that it could not be used everywhere in the world. Around 900 World Cup qualifying games were played and the same rules have to be applied to all the matches within the same competition,” concluded a non-technologically minded Blatter.

Guerrero overcomes his fear of flying

The Peruvian international Jose Paulo Guerrero spent several months in his homeland, unable to return to Germany, where he plays for Hamburger SV, due to an intense flying phobia.

A few weeks ago the Germans sent him a psychologist whose task it was to treate Guerrero’s phobia and the move seemed to pay off. Last Thursday Guerrero took a trip to the airport in the company of his mother Petronila Gonzalez and boarded a KLM flight to Europe, where he is continuing a treatment for an injury he suffered early into the season.

Previous to the psychologist’s intervention, Guerrero did not manage to board a plane, alleging the phobia caused him gastric disturbances. It was even speculated he might …

UEFA’s president and Bandar Togel Singapore

Michel Platini, UEFA’s president, has launched a desperate plea to the leaders of all European countries asking them for help in the battle against ruthless soccer capitalists.

“A serious threat hangs over the development of European football. (…) Money has never been the ultimate objective of football: the main purpose has always been to win trophies. For the first time we may be entering an era in which financial profit alone will be the measure of sporting success,” wrote Platini in his letter to the only people who could stop several dozen tycoons from bringing all the best world’s players to several dozen West European clubs leaving the rest with nothing.

Platini knows that it is the EU politicians who have enabled the businessmen to treat soccer as just another branch of industry disregarding its particularities as a sporting competition with strong ties to local communities.

The interests of tens of millions of fans from less affluent parts of the world are being largely ignored by EU legislators and their protégés.

Quality soccer has been played for decades in hundreds of clubs over five continents but the unstoppable onslaught of magnates investing in English, Spanish, Italian and German team threatens to turn all other territories into a soccer desert.

UEFA’s president believes that English soccer is the most threatened due to the increaing interest of foreign billionaires investing in the Premier League, but it is really soccer elsewhere in the world that is being endangered by the situation, since hundreds of quality players pour into the Premiership draining other sources.

But, will any legislator put the long-term interest of soccer (and the fans) ahead of the profit of the football fat cats?

Alex Del Piero gives Donadoni a semi-ultimatum

Platini soothes growing Togel pains of Ukraine

Michel Platini has said he is at last confident Ukraine can host Euro 2012.

Euro 2012.

Euro 2012

After several ‘last chance’ warnings over the past three years, the Togel UEFA boss can tear a few fewer hairs out now the four stadia do seem to be on track for next summer.

“A year ago, we were deciding whether to leave four or two cities,” Platini told reporters on a tour of Kharkiv. “And today we have four cities.”

“There are no serious problems in preparing for Euro 2012,” he continued, “but there are many minor tasks and problems that need to be solved.”

For Platini, a successful Euro 2012 is crucial to his reputation as an organiser of big soccer tournaments as he continues his silent campaign for the FIFA Presidency at some point in the future.

The Frenchman has found the two hosts’ lack of infrastructure and slow construction progress compared to western European nations an ongoing headache, and has constantly had to threaten them with being stripped of hosting rights. Spain was the first nation touted as a replacement back in 2008, when World Soccer’s Keir Radnedge boldly announced neither Poland nor Ukraine would host Euro 2012.

Then Germany entered the picture, either as sole host or as joint organiser with Poland. Now it is clear UEFA is not turning back and is throwing its cards on the table with the two unknown East European hosts. By rights the tournament should have been Italy’s, but the calciopoli scandal and an upsurge in high-profile hooliganism let the duo in through the back door.

It promises to be a unique European Championship, a foretaste perhaps of the 2018 World Cup in neighbouring Russia.

The cheap transport promised to fans facing extraordinarily long journeys between venues (Gdansk to Donetsk is 933 miles/1502km) yet to materialise.

Next month Platini visits Poland to inspect their venues, with the opening date of Warsaw’s new arena still up in the air.

From bad to worse for Togel Hongkong Takeshi Okada

It may not have been delivered in so many words, but Japan coach Takeshi Okada received the dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ after surviving showdown talks with the Japan Football Association on February 15.

An emergency meeting was convened after Japan’s 3-1 humbling at the hands of Korea Republic in the East Asian championships in Tokyo – a result that prompted a public backlash the following day.

Hundreds of Japan supporters phoned JFA House to demand Okada’s sacking, but the erstwhile Yokohama F. Marinos coach has once again received the support of JFA chief Motoaki Inukai.

“I know that the media is calling for Okada to be fired, but it is a big risk to make such a change to a team that has been three years in the making just because of one or two results.”

“I don’t think it would improve the team only four months Togel Hongkong before the World Cup,” writes Inukai on the JFA website.

While Inukai continues to brush aside suggestions that Okada should be removed from his post, many Japan fans are downcast about their team’s chances at the upcoming World Cup finals.

An overwhelming majority believe that Japan will make a first round exit in South Africa, and recent performances have done little to lighten the mood.

Time is fast running out for Okada to wring some decent displays from his under-performing team, with morale seemingly at an all-time low under the struggling tactician’s regime.

Japan’s next game is at home to Bahrain in an Asian Cup qualifier on March 3, where the Samurai Blue will be desperate to put their indifferent form behind them and build some momentum ahead of the World Cup.

Bridge too far?

If people thought that the John Terry scandal was to be the most stringent assessment of Fabio Capello’s reign of the English national team, they obviously hadn’t counted on a World Cup-threatening injury to Ashley Cole this week.

Capello, already a media darling with the tabloids, was roundly applauded by all sections of …
